It’s easy to feel disconnected when distance and social distancing make it difficult to meet in person. Virtual happy hour events have increased in popularity as they provide a safe environment to get together socially without the risks.

For the cocktail lover, happy hour and learning mixology is a fun way to continue drinking your favorite drinks together. However organizing a weekly virtual cocktail party needs coordination. The host often spends hours curating drinks, messaging to attendees with ingredient clarifications, deciphering quantities and keeping track of favorite past recipes lost in the inbox. If only there were a virtual bartender to help take care of these tasks, leaving more time for relaxing and connecting over cocktails.

Product

This cocktail chatbot is the virtual bar bot you need to organize weekly cocktail happy hours with your friends online. Each week it can help you to:

• curate and share a classic cocktail recipe with group members

• create excitement around cocktail happy hour providing drink history

• answer questions on ingredient quantities and substitutions, including alcohol free alternatives

• keep track of favorite past cocktail recipes

My Role on a 1 Person Team

I developed the product from concept to prototype, including research, interviews with users, designing conversation flows, writing dialogues and testing cocktail recipes.

Outcome

I built the first iteration, available as a prototype on Botsociety.
